Ms. Jennifer Olszewski, Director,
Ballet, Pre-Tap, Modern I Instructor
Jennifer Olszewski is the Director of New City Dance Co.
She has been studying dance since the age of three
and teaching for the last ten years. She graduated from the University of
Washington with a B.A. in dance. She has studied at local studios as well as
at Joffrey Ballet School in New York and at Burklyn Ballet Theatre. Over the
years she has performed at events in the area, musical theater productions,
and with the University of Washington Ballet Co., as well as with Burklyn Ballet
Theatre in Vermont and Scotland. She has more recently performed with
SSSCo, a local modern dance company.

Tanya Beatty,
Tap Instructor
Tanya started dancing in
her hometown of Gainesville, Florida and has a varied dance background.
She has studied and performed international folkdance, ballroom, swing dance,
ballet, modern, tap, African, flamenco, and hip hop. She has performed
in the Gainesville Spring and Fall art festivals; in Miami she has performed
in many modern and flamenco (group and solo) dance concerts for various artist
including Roberto Dias, Ilisa Rosal, Celia Fonta, and Celina Garrison.
She received her BA in dance with a flamenco focus from Florida International
University in Miami in 2006 and performed in the FIU faculty in spring of 2006
in a flamenco piece choreographed by Celia Fonta and an African dance piece
choreographed by guest artist Clyde Morgen. In June 2006 Tanya solely
produced a dance, music, and theater concert in Gainesville titled "An
Eclectic Night of Dance, Music, and Theater" showcasing her own modern
choreography and performance, flamenco dance and her friends' talents.
She also performed in Gainville's Santa Fe Community College's faculty
concert for Kristin O'Neal's modern piece "Radio Show" in spring 2007.
She is currently a member of Chimera Dance Theater and is rehearsing a piece
for AC Petersen.

Joya Christy, Ballet Instructor Joya has been
dancing for over twenty-five years. She has been trained in classical ballet in
Boston, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, London and Seattle under such
instructors as Alexi Yudenich, Zvi Gotheiner, Arturo Fernandez, Alonzo King,
Magali Messac, Betsy Cooper, Mark Haim and Patricia Rianne, among others. Joya
performed in many ballets as a soloist in the SF Bay Area and on the east coast.
She was trained in modern dance at Margaret Jenkins Dance Company School/ODC San
Francisco with Janice Garrett, Ellie Klopp, Cheryl Chaddick, and at the Trisha
Brown Company School in New York. Her performing experience includes dancing as
a modern dance company member in many independent troupes in the Bay Area as
well as directing and performing in her own work in San Francisco.
Joya has studied choreography under Bessie Schoenberg on
scholarship at Jacob’s Pillow where her work was highlighted as part of the
Inside/Out series. She has made a series of dance performance videos for web
streaming and CD-ROM/DVDs.
Joya is Licensed Massage Practitioner, Certified Polarity
Practitioner and Reiki Practitioner. She has recently received her BA in
Somatics, Psychology and Dance from Antioch University, Seattle. Her background
and education in somatic bodywork modalities, psychology, and health sciences
informs her dance teaching style. She focuses on developing safe and healthy
technical abilities and somatic awareness in her students, encourages her
dancers to express their creativity and emotions through dance, and believes
that dance education can and should be fun and enjoyable. |

Amy Daniels, Modern Instructor
Amy is from Nevada City, California. She has recently
received her BFA in Dance from Cornish College of the Arts. During her
schooling in Seattle, Amy has danced with Pat Hon, Gerard Theoret, Deborah Wolf,
Peter Kyle, Maureen Whiting, Christy McNeal-Dobson, and Wade Madsen. Amy
also teaches ballet and jazz technique to a wide age range of children and is a
certified Pilates instructor.

Sarah Edwards-Strode, Ballet
Instructor
Ms. Edwards-Strode has trained with Joffrey Ballet on scholarship in the
Professional Division, received an apprenticeship from Connecticut Ballet, and
has also studied and performed with Ballet Bellevue, Spectrum Dance
Theater, New City Ballet as well as other dance schools in the state of
Washington. She has most recently studied dance, Kinesiology, and injury
prevention with Cornish College of the Arts on scholarship and performed
with Cornish Dance Theatre. Being a student of New City Ballet in her youth
she has a special and personal commitment to further the academy’s education
department. Sarah hopes to share her enthusiasm, passion and knowledge of
dance with her students and continue to dedicate the art of dance to
enriching peoples lives.

Giavanna Enriquez, Guest Instructor/Choreographer
Giavanna was born and raised in San
Francisco, California. At the age of five she began dancing at Star Dance
Studio, a dance school specializing in tap. She graduated from the program
after thirteen years of taking tap, jazz, lyrical, and modern classes and
moved to Seattle the following year. She is currently working on receiving
her BFA in dance from Cornish College of the Arts, where she is focusing on
ballet, modern, improvisation and choreography. She is thrilled to be able
to share her experiences in dance with the students at New City Dance.

Kate Hart, Jazz Instructor Kate is excited to
be teaching, choreographing and working creatively in the Great North West. She
began performing and choreography on her front lawn at the ripe age of
eight. When she was sixteen she formally began teaching, choreographing,
training, and performing with Allegro Dance Company. The foundation of her
training consists of Gymnastics, Modern, Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary, Tap and
Musical Theater. She had the wonderful opporturnity to choreograph
adaptations for Auburn Actor's Guild, some of her credits include: Rodgers &
Hammerstein's 'Oklahoma!' and Cole Porter's 'Kiss me Kate.' Kate has
performed works and trained with many local and nationally known
Choreographers: Bebe Miller, Tonya Lockyer, Wade Madsen, Deb Wolf, Pat Hon,
Adelle Myers and Amy O' Neal. She received her BFA majoring in dance (focusing
on Composition, Choreography, Performance, and Modern and Ballet technique) from
Cornish College of the Arts. She is a current member of Walrus Dance Productions
and Serendipity Dance Brigade.

Lisa Heringlake, Guest Instructor
Lisa grew up in Burien, where she begun
studying dance at Studio VII. During high school she continued her learning
through New City Ballet, where she taught tap and belonged to the performing
group. She has also taught for Belltown Ballet and Conditioning, performed
and choreographed for the University of Puget Sound Repertoire Dance Group,
and studied at Johnson and Peters. She has a passion for teaching and is
currently studying to obtain a degree in education.

Sierra Keith, Jazz
Instructor Sierra has been involved with forms
of dance since an early age. She participated in Cheer, Flag Teams and
Dance Teams in High School, and studied and performed in musical theatre at SCC
in Seattle. Sierra was Clarkston Junior Miss in 1989 and choreographed for
the Junior Miss program in 1989 and 1990. Her TV credits include a music
video, which appeared on MTV. Sierra has studied ballet at ABA, NCDC,
Spectrum Dance Theatre, Pacific Northwest Ballet and Arc School of Ballet.
She has performed with The American Ballet Academy, Dance Works, and New City
Dance Company. Most recently, Sierra continues her ballet training under
many Pacific Northwest Ballet Dancers: Jeremy Conner, Kabby Mitchell III, Oleg
Gorboulev and Marie Chong, and she is currently studying Contemporary Jazz with
Jason Ohlberg, and Traditional Jazz with Richard Jessup. Sierra was
previously on staff at NCDC as a Ballet Instructor and is excited to rejoin the
staff as a Jazz Instructor.

Christopher Nardine, Guest
Instructor/Choreographer
Chris started performing in musical theater in 1971, singing and dancing
in "Man of LaMancha" at the University of Connecticut, where he earned his
BFA in music and a B.S. in music education. He continued performing in
musicals and nightclubs throughout the East. He has choreographed and
directed more than 50 musicals since 1979, and has taught jazz and tap since
1978 at various schools, including 4 years with New City Dance. He has
studied dance with many greats, including Honi Coles, Bubba Gaines, Ray
Busey and Seattle's own Johnson and Peters.

| Connie Stine, Guest
Instructor/Choreographer
Ms. Stine received her early training with Russel Fratto,
Leon Danielion, Vincenzo Celli, David Howard, Fernando Schaffenburg, Wayne
Soulant and Joyce Karpiej. As a Nordan Fine Arts Scholar, she received her
BFA in Ballet and Theater from Texas Christian University, while dancing
with the Fort Worth
Ballet. Other professional credits include: Phoenix Ballet, Center Ballet of
Connecticut, Arizona Metropolitan Ballet and Ballet Arizona. She began
teaching thirty years ago in Texas and has taught in Connecticut, New York
and Arizona. Ms. Stine was a Faculty Associate at Arizona State University
for ten years teaching all levels of Ballet, Pointe and Pedagogy. In 1997
she began duties as Dance Chair at New School for the Arts and developed the
dance program to a national level. Ms. Stine is listed in the 2000 and 2002
Who's Who in American Teachers, and was Artistic Director of Eastside Ballet
for the past 22 years.
